Allow me to drool for a few moments

I'm going to use my study break to share some drool-worthy items with you guys.
Consider this my official Christmas wishlist...only a few months early.

From this amazingly cute shop!

I must have this for my apartment! From Target

&& I'll add more to this later!
Study break has taken far too long since I got distracted by lots of other things. Haha

Not so super awesome update & a few awesome updates

Not so super awesome update first:
I will not be having a "fall line" after all.
I was hoping to have about 10 new items prepared by now to photoshoot and reveal soon. This was all wishful thinking during summer break & I was completely naive to the amount of time that school, color guard, and life in general takes up.
But although I won't have an actual line to reveal all at once, I will still be making little things here and there and revealing them on my Etsy site.

Some awesome updates:
I'm still totally open for custom Halloween costumes. If you can dream it up, I can make it!
Also, I just opened up a new custom section for Fall Ball dresses. I'm limiting amount of customers for that to 3 and I already have one spot taken up.

Just a quick little update for everyone has been keeping track!

All my favorite pieces...happened partly because of a failure. Every really interesting twist in my work has happened because I fu**ed up on something, and then we had to compensate somewhere else. I think that you make much larger advancement through failures"

I wonder who is getting the satisfaction of sitting back and calling the shots on what the definition of "right and wrong" is.
I'm getting to the point where I don't want to listen to them anymore.
I call the shots 'round here now.

Do me a favor and let recklessness inspire you for awhile.

QOTD and some updates

"I have been and still am a seeker, but I have ceased to question stars and books; I have begun to listen to the teachings my blood whispers to me."

Updates:
I am thinking that September 25th will be the official release date for my new stuff.
Unless something changes and I just absolutely can't get everything done by then...which might be possible.

Oh && along with fall stuff...

I'm doing custom Halloween costumes this year! I'm sure Halloween has yet to enter your minds but if you start thinking about it and can get your orders into me soon, that'd be super awesome!
Custom costumes would start at about $40 since they typically require a lot of fabric, time, and pizazz.
The same deal works for these as with the rest of my customs. I'll give you an estimate of the job total and draw up a sketch before I do any work.
Oh and I ask that half of the total amount is paid up-front. That' the only change.

I think that's all the updates I have for now.
I'll be setting up a few more "sneak peaks" sometime over the weekend and next week!

Quote of the Day

Sure, QotDs are everywhere and always aspire in raise hope in the hearts of millions and all that fancy stuff.
I guess you could say that my quote of the days are written for the same purpose. These are the ones that caught my eye and maybe this blog will become your favorite place for quote of the days! Or it may not in which case, this is entirely for just my own benefit.

"Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it's crackers up to be. That's why people are so cynical about it. It really is wroth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don't risk anything, you risk even more"
-Erica Jong

I warn you now, my of my quotes are going to be loved based.
I'm a sucker for love, ya know ^-^

Spoiler Alert!

So, as promised, here is a little sneak peak at one of the items getting ready to be debuted mid-September (I'm still trying to pick an actual date so bear with me).
This dress is currently my favorite thing ever! It's so cute and I'm probably going to make one for myself when I get some spare time.

I'm still trying to get the hang of clothes that are "fall inspired"
Although I've been designing for 2 years now, this is my first attempt at making not spring/summer stuff.
Expect a bit darker colors and, hopefully, completely new and interest styles all in all.
But, of course, I'm not ready to get up my love affair with floral completely.

Step One

Step Two

Step Three (my camera decided to make the dress magically change colors)

*please, keep in mind this dress is far from complete and I won't be posting a picture of it completed until I reveal my new "collection" as a whole
[:

nothing too exciting but hey, that's how all my stuff comes together!

I'm also currently starting work toward a nation-wide fashion design scholarship for potential Art Institute students. I'm really nervous and excited and it's going to be a lot of work but...I'm going for it!
Wish me luck

Game plan: 2.0

so since I work alone and no one is ever in my studio with me, I decided to try something new.
As I embark into preparing my "fall line", I'm going to take random pictures throughout the process of making my clothes.
To kinda give those who might be interested a little insight to the work that goes into my work.
I think it'll be fun and a bit strange for me to allow people to see my stuff in the making so I'm quite excited!

I'll have this up in a few days

Artists Unite! [:

so today, I joined the Art Feeds Street Team and part of my "job description" now is to annoy the heck out of everyone with promoting them and directing attention toward the fact that Art Feeds is currently running in the Pepsi Refresh Project for the $25k Grant.

So click on this cute banner to head over to their site and learn more!
They're an amazing organization that I've strongly supported for months now.
I'm probably going to get their motto tattooed on me somewhere because, I truly think it's words to live by.

Love Naively. Give Generously. Be Foolishly Compassionate.

& now, a quote.

For the next two weeks, I have guard camp from 8 in the morning till 5 in the afternoon.
Surprisingly, this is very welcomed. For the past 2 years, guard camp has been from 8 to 8 and I kind of had to constantly fight the urge of killing myself...and those around me.
Point being, I won't have a lot of time to post any new inspiring stuff or keep track of my blog at all. My art is taking a back seat for a few weeks while I attempt to enjoy my last days of freedom before school starts back August 13th.

But today I came across this quote that I just couldn't pass up making a blog for.
I think people who are this passionate about their work are the epitome of inspiration.

"What is the point of spending all day at a job you hate to pay for the car that you use to drive to that job, and the house that you're never in because of that job, and the family you never see because of that job, and the traveling you wind up never doing because of that job, and so on. So many people give their lives away without a second thought. I would rather be on the streets and fighting to live, so long as I have love and freedom and my own time to do with as I please. Fuck 8 to 5, and a consistent salary, and a suburban home in a neighborhood of golf buddies, and a nice car that sparkles, and all the other things society today insists we need and want. I want a life instead."

&& I hope for anyone who may be reading this that you have a swell 2 weeks!

+2 Tattoo Ideas

I hope I can find a tattoo artist with a good imagination because I want this style:
but Peter Pan and Wendy.
And I'll put one on each of my legs. Either front or back...I haven't really decided on that part yet.

So add those to the collection [:

&&, after browsing the online Disney store for awhile, I'm rather angry that Disney never has anything to do with Peter Pan and it's always just about Tinkerbell.
I hate Tinkerbell...I really do.

Coming tomorrow. This is just a reminder so it's off my mind and I can get some sleep.

the great outdoors!

I spent the day in Helen with my best friend, Skye and well, it was probably one the best summer days I've had!
We went tubing down the river for 2 1/2 hours, explored the town, lost my cell phone, drove home, and then hopped into her pool.
So I am happy to say, I spent the majority of the day enjoying the outside!

& once I got home, I had the urge to watch Romeo + Juliet.
I'd only ever seen part of it before but, with Baz Luhrmann being the director, I knew the rest of it had to be good.
and I was definitely not disappointed.
I love everything I've seen of Baz's and, if I was ever asked, I would say he's my favorite director.
His work is quirky and recognizable which I love from an artist of any kind.

& the outdoors have worn me out completely.
so I can't really come up with anything more to blog about today.
I think Baz should inspire you enough for awhile [:
That song above is best appreciated through headphones & with minimal distractions...in my opinion.

Go outside.

these are the riches of the poor.

Fashion crush of the century!
80s/90s Grunge looks good on anyone.
If you can't find anything to wear, just look like you've rolled out of bed and act like you spend all day picking out that outfit.
It's genius!

and it's my favorite on boys.
If I ever get a boys' line going with Starship, it'll be 100% inspired the following images

I really /must/ remake these pants...and soon!

I think fashionable boys inspire me more than any girl possibly ever could.

2 Months Down; 10 More To Go

Since the age of young teenage hood, I've had an ongoing love affair with tattoos.
For awhile, I actually wanted to be the next Kat Von D. That was, until I realized I couldn't draw to save my life and that's a rather important part of being a tattoo artist.
Who knew?!

Although I have since abandoned my dreams of being a tattoo artist, I still can't wait for the day when my body turns into a canvas for someone who does have actual drawing skills.

Over the years, I've been planning out tattoos I want to get someday so, please believe me when I say absolutely none of these are "spur of the moment" ideas.

I have yet to decide on my first tattoo but I do believe it might be this on my left arm. I don't want to call the position my shoulder because then that sounds like I want it on my back but I want it at the top of my arm near my shoulder. Haha!

& this is speaks for itself. I am Buddhist. So I want my Buddha with me all the time. This will go on my left forearm on the inside and facing me. Hopefully he'll be a good reminder to "stay calm and remember to breathe" in everyday situations.

I got this idea from a girl I saw in Ohio last summer. She had a little Ohio on the side of her neck. I plan to travel a lot when I'm a bit older & this is going on the back of my right shoulder as kind of "Blairsville is always in my past" sorta deal. Since here holds all my roots.

One I can't promise that I'll ever be able to actually get is also one I can't get a picture of.
I'm saving the inside of right forearm for the day of my wedding. I want to steal lyrics from my favorite band: "Perfect exists, but only on a day like this" with my wedding date below. It'll be in really pretty script writing and have that whole elegant feel to it! That's what I picture anyway

This. Well, I don't know where this one would go yet or if I'm even 100% certain on it. I know I want a Peter Pan inspired tattoo somewhere though.

For now, my last long-term planned out one is this. I saw it on a fellow blogger's page and I absolutely adore it! I love foxes and this would just be an awesome piece of artwork to have. I want this on my left side starting on my hip and going up to like mid-ribcage.

I can't believe that I'll be 18 in 10 months. I'm not rushing things or anything but I am pretty darn excited to see what "adulthood" has in store for me.
c:

I'm no good at introductions.

But regardless, here goes nothing!
As some...err well, probably most of you know, I've always been a blogger.
Mostly I use my blog as my best friend and vent about all my problems and spill my deepest thoughts onto the web. Which, for the sake of my sanity, I still intend to do. (self pity party : izzyvon.blogspot.com)
Just not in this branch of my blog.

As an artist myself,
I want to create an online environment filled with cute and interesting things that inspire me
and will, hopefully, do the same for you!

I'm also going to try and get some new things going.
Like raffling off some cute Starship items
and promoting other indie artists.
Ya know, the usual ^-^

You can create a blogger account (takes like 2 minutes tops, promise!)
and click over in my sidebar to follow this blog so you'll be the firs to know when new stuff arrives!
I promise, this site will progressively become more interesting. I'm just sleepy, running a can of coke, and still have to pick out fabric for a new custom skirt I'm working on right now so...not time for bloggin!
I just wanted to go ahead and at least get my introduction done
and hopefully, spark your interest!

So welcome to a world that is a close to being "inside my mind" as
I'll be comfortable with you getting.

(and if you were for some reason wondering about this blog's URL, I was searching around Lookbook and one girl said she looked like a gypsy and the boy right below her was wearing a cute outfit that I thought would look better if he had a leather jacket on and striped pants instead of the other way around)
